Notion opens up its AI tools to all

And it's free...for now

Today, the hugely popular app, Notion, announced that their AI features are now available to all users. These features are designed to assist with writing and editing text, summarising notes, generating task lists, and even providing a 'thought partner'. Notion's AI can also perform translations and generate summaries based on selected text. However, it should be noted that the AI may output incorrect information or biased and harmful content when prompted.

Notion is partnering with OpenAI, Anthropic, and other companies to power the AI feature, and is constantly testing and improving it. Currently, users can try Notion AI for free, with each workspace user getting 20 free AI responses until April 5th, 2023. After that, it will cost $8-10 per month per workspace member for unlimited access to the feature.

Other companies, such as Microsoft, Google and Amazon, are also integrating AI-powered copilot functionality into their apps and services, most notably with Microsoft integrating ChatGPT into Microsoft Teams and Skype, in some form. It seems likely that these features will continue to spread to more products in the future...

In conclusion, the integration of AI-powered copilot functionality into various apps and services is transforming the way we work and collaborate. While these AI features have the potential to greatly improve productivity and efficiency, it's important to note that they are not without their limitations and potential risks. As with any new technology, it's crucial to approach it with caution and to be aware of its potential biases and limitations. Nevertheless, the increasing adoption of AI in the workplace suggests that this trend is likely to continue, with companies constantly testing and refining their AI offerings to provide users with even more powerful and sophisticated tools.
